Start School Later Bloomfield, NJ is a student-led local chapter of the national Start School Later organization, advocating for healthy, evidence-based school start times aligned with adolescent sleep science.
Bloomfield High School currently begins at 7:45 a.m., with some students scheduled for activities that start even earlier. Medical organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, have long recommended that high schools start no earlier than 8:30 a.m. due to the unique biological sleep needs of adolescents.
