Start School Later/Healthy Hours was started by a small group of volunteers in 2011. We are now an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit powered mostly by volunteers who work tirelessly to help students get healthy sleep and help schools in the US and beyond return to schedules that allow for healthy sleep. |

- Assisting local advocates working for safe, healthy, sleep-friendly, and equitable school hours.
- Providing technical assistance to school communities working toward healthy school hours by connecting scientists, educators, and change management experts
- Developing and distributing award-winning sleep-education programs
- Providing webinars and resources about student sleep health to schools and communities
- Maintaining an online clearinghouse about school start times and student sleep health
- Sponsoring landmark “start school later” legislation in California (2019)
