Volunteer Opportunities

As a non-profit organization, Start School Later, Inc. depends on the time and talent of volunteers. Whether you have only an hour to spare or want to help with a long-term project, there are many ways you can help the cause on your own schedule. 

Our volunteers have already logged in over 2,000 service hours, but we can always use specialized skills. Many of these positions can be done from home, can flex with your schedule or be done as a specific need arises.

Graphic Design

Possible activities include:

• working with our logo and updating marketing materials with vibrant, consistent branding
• creating accessible messaging appealing to the eye, captivates audiences, and engages activism
• illustrating flyers, posters, and other publications
  

Event Management

Possible activities include:

• compiling and procuring donations and prizes
• planning and publicize fundraising events​​

Calendar Events

We need help:

• updating our events listing webpage for national, statewide and local events of interest​
• communicating with chapter leaders about upcoming events

Grant Applications 

Possible activities include:

• identifying and contacting grant awarding organizations to get more information on grant qualifications and requirements​
• working with staff to draft grant applications

Legal Counsel

Possible activities include:

• ​assisting with trademark and service mark applications
• assisting with tax filings
• drafting vendor contracts and memorandums of understanding
• reviewing and negotiating contracts
• providing general legal counsel
