To support H468, a bill that would support all Massachusetts school districts in implementing healthier and safer school start times, please send an email to your state legislators asking them to request that the Chairs of the Joint Committee report favorably on this bill.

See sample letter below. Feel free to customize your letter for greater impact. And if your legislator is a sponsor or co-sponsor (see list on this page), please consider beginning by thanking him/or her.

SAMPLE EMAIL:

Dear LEGISLATOR NAME AND TITLE,
As your constituent, I’m writing to request that you contact the Chairs of the Joint Committee on Education, Senator Jason Lewis and Rep. Alice Peisch, to ask them to report favorably on bill H468 (https://malegislature.gov/Bills/191/H468). This is a very important bill that when passed will help Massachusetts school districts implement healthier school start times as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. (Joint Committee on Education hearing date for this bill: September 4th)
Chronic adolescent sleep deficiency is a pervasive problem across Massachusetts, and passing this bill is an important step towards helping school districts make positive changes that have been shown to benefit students’ health, safety, academic and athletic performance.
This issue is very important to me, and I appreciate any action you can take to further the progress of bill H468.
Thank you,
(your name and address)
