History 

In late 2015, after policy recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and over 30 other medical and public health organizations, we presented to Parents and the Scarborough Board of Education the science behind our recommendation for later start times for High School Students and submitted a letter signed by 15 local medical clinicians who serve the students in our community.

In April of 2017, the Scarborough School Board voted to change the Start Times in Scarborough.

Our goal is to help the public understand the science behind healthy start times.

As part of a national non-profit organization comprised entirely of volunteers, we work to educate communities about healthy sleep behaviors and share success stories from other communities who have successfully implemented changes in their local communities.

Scarborough is the sixth local chapter in Maine.
