South Orange-Maplewood is a regional public school district listed as a District Factor Group "I" in New Jersey. The district serves two suburban communities with six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school, Columbia High School, which is famous for inventing Ultimate Frisbee, among many accolades.
The current high school start time is 7:30 a.m. The local chapter has met with the superintendent to place the issue of school start times into an education summit in February 2016. SSL is currently seeking a new chapter leader for the South Orange-Maplewood, NJ chapter.
