Welcome to Start School Later Capital District, NY!

The Bethlehem Healthy Kids Committee (BHKC) has been working with parents, community members and school personnel in the Town of Bethlehem, NY to improve health and wellness of students in our district for many years.
In recent years we began sharing information about the Start the School Day Later initiative which has garnered the interest of parents and students alike in the Bethlehem Central School District (BCSD). Presently we are sharing information with our Board of Education, maintaining the topic as a regular agenda item of BHKC monthly meetings and bringing the topic to the BCSD's Coordinated School Health Team to discuss and advocate for moving the initiative forward. By becoming a local chapter of Start School Later Inc., we hope to reach more people in our school district about this important topic, and to effect change with school start times that will support student health, safety and educational success.
