Welcome to Start School Later
"The Phoenixville Area School District is the latest in Pennsylvania to vote in favor of later start times. High school and middle school classes in Phoenixville will start 45 minutes later. Elementary schools will open 35 minutes later." - Sara Hoover, WHYY, January 24, 2019
The Phoenixville School District is contained in Chester County, but has a distinctive community heritage of its own. As our 87th local chapter and the
fifth chapter in Pennsylvania, Phoenixville has one high school, one middle school and four elementary schools.

“The research is unambiguous. We live in a country that can’t agree on anything except that teenagers don’t get enough sleep, and so it just seemed unconscionable to us to continue to bury our head in the sand.”
- Scott Eckstein, director of admissions, The Solebury School
