Welcome to Start School Later Dearborn, MI!
|
School starts in Dearborn made the press in March 2012 with a unique flexible scheduling option, allowing high school students the choice to adhere to the current 7:20 start or go in roughly an hour later at 8:25am. Meanwhile, in Washington, DC, Start School Later launched our Wake Up Wednesday initiative, a series of deliveries of our national petition to legislative offices.
Since then, the outcry for later, safer school start times for all students has gained ground across the country. Start School Later is delighted to bring Helena Thornton, petition creator for Dearborn Public Schools, on board to lead the Dearborn Chapter of Start School Later. Thornton is a Dearborn Public School graduate and currently works for one of the Big Three auto companies. To join the Dearborn chapter, request more information or to get involved please fill out the form to the right. Dearborn In the News
