 Howard County Election Information

Howard County is transitioning to an elected school board based on councilmanic districts (five seats) plus two at-large positions in 2020. The student member of the board is elected by peers in a separate process. The two at-large positions were up for election in 2022.

In April 2020, Start School Later Howard County sent a letter, attachment, and questionnaire to the
2020 Board of Education candidates. The names listed below won the November 2020 General Election.

2022 Elections
Two At-Large Positions 


In March 2022, prior to the Primary Election, ​Start School Later Howard County sent a letter, attachment, and questionnaire to the 2022 Board of Education Primary candidates. In August 2022, a follow-up letter, attachment, and questionnaire was sent to the
four General Election candidates, with responses requested by September 18th.
